The past is in the past

It can and shall never last

It is far from my grasp

But I can never let that pass

As my soul shall not allow that

Memories shall be cherished

But will never repeat

Regret is futile

But I cannot help it.

Birds chirping. Blue sky. And a field of grass that reflects a vibrant green under the morning sun, within which dots flowers of a multitude of vibrant colours. Red. Purple. Yellow. Orange.

Amongst the endless ocean of greenery and flora, is him. Sitting in a meditative pose.

But something is different about him. He sits in an unusually poised manner. Seemingly at peace. He is clothed with a white shirt and white long pants as he sits shoeless. Eyes closed. His breathing is slow and steady, as if nothing is bothering him at all. A slight grin shows on his face. He maintains that position for a very long time.

Breathing in. Breathing out. Breathing in. Breathing out.

A gush of wind, pushing his hair aside. His left eye twitches. He frowns slightly. His eyes gingerly open. His pupils swiftly shift from left to right, right to left. His right eyebrow raises. He looks around.

He stops looking around, and stares ahead of him. Something shiny. Hidden in the grass. Like a star embedded in the field. He gets to his feet. He steps forward, towards the mysterious object. He looks down in immense confusion.

His heart skips a beat. He takes a large step back. His breathing begins to quicken. He starts sweating profusely, growing pale. Hairs sprout on his chin, upper lips and cheeks, metamorphosing into his current form as described before (Part 1). However, we do not see what he sees.

A car materialises in front of him. Upside down. Columns of smoke emanate from the hunk of mess. Bits and pieces of car and glass are scattered all over. He stands rooted to the ground.

He approaches the window. He bends down and peeps in.

Crimson red blood.

And something else.

But we do not know what it is yet. But he does.

He is shell-shocked.

He flinches, eyes widened.

Boom! Thunder sounds. He looks around and all of a sudden, the sky turns grey. Clouds gather underneath him. The grass around him seems to take on a sickly brown and crippled look as they shrivel up, including the flowers. This disgusting brown colour diffuses around him, devouring the whole field, transforming the eden into a wasteland. He frantically looks around, hyperventilating. He collapses onto his knees. He grabs his head, on the verge of emotional destruction.

He lets out a violent scream, reverberating throughout the now barren landscape as the sun sets, saturating the entire area with a yellowish orange.

And thou desires Eden?

To be continued.
